Cushing is Planning for the Future While Engaging the Past

I have always been a firm believer in the importance of communities planning for their future while valuing and protecting the benchmarks of their past. It is exciting to see that Cushing in Payne County is thinking along those same lines.

Jump starting community development hinges on their being reasons for people to come to the community (commercial, educational, or entertainment), that there be ways of engaging in the community once there (eating places, service industries, tourism opps) and that the interactive environment of the community be positive (it is clean, the streets/roads are good, and the atmosphere inviting and welcoming). Those are the added values that encourage people to check out a community and then linger to consider relocating business or domestic residences.

Any town on a map has issued an invitation for people to come visit - it is a community's responsibility to be sure the visit is filled with BANG and is not a BUST. It was good then to discover Cushing is doing that - beginning that journey of intentional self improvement that benefits businesses and citizens alike.
